JPMS Membership
Medical Society Membership
The Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS) and its chartered parish society, Jefferson Parish Medical Society (JPMS), are unified organizations. A physician must hold membership in both societies.
A physician may choose to hold basic membership either in the parish whose jurisdiction the physician maintains his/her principle office or in the parish in whose jurisdiction the physician maintains his/her primary residence.

Publications including Capsules and the Journal of the Louisiana State Medical Society, and JPMS PROGRESS NOTES
Listing in the JPMS Pictorial Membership Directory
Free CME Credits available through the Journal

Referrals and practice information provided to patients from the JPMS Referral Line

Categories of Membership and Combined 2009 Dues for:
LSMS and JPMS Membership
Active Member $650.00
A Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy who is licensed to practice medicine by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and practices medicine full time.
Active Part-Time $325.00
A Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy who is licensed to practice medicine by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and who practices medicine for a maximum of twenty (20) hours per week.
First Year in Practice $325.00
A Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy who is licensed to practice medicine by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and who has completed a residency/fellowship within the last 12 months and practices medicine full time.
Second Year in Practice $517.00
A Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy who is licensed to practice medicine by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and who completed a full year of medical practice following a residency/fellowship but has been in practice less than 2 years.
Residents $ 25.00
A physician that is serving an internship or residency in a Louisiana hospital approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association.
Medical Students $ 0.00
A student who is in good standing with a medical school in Louisiana approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
